Brødrene Bernt og Øistein Lande dro til USA som unge voksne. De arbeidet i gruvene i byen Butte, Montana. Øystein døde i en arbeidsulykke. Bernt dro senere tilbake til Norheim hvor han tok over familiens gård. Bildene er fra hans opphold i Butte, USA.
